Formed in 1998 by members of Eighteen Visions, and heavily influenced by Cleveland's Integrity, Bleeding Through began under the name Breakneck. The goal at the time was to create heavy, pissed-off music for kids to get into. The band would write material, and make its live debut with the likes of 18 Visions, Adamantium, and Throwdown. The show was a success, but the Bleeding Through members were not satisfied, as many wanted to expand the band's hardcore sound to metal. Thus, the band began writing metal songs. Bleeding Through's line-up would finally solidify at the time with the addition of bassist Mark Jackson, who played drums for Throwdown. It was at this point that the band re-named itself Bleeding Through. The band would then write music and record these tracks on a four-track, while landing a show with Throwdown. A friend close to the band would offer Bleeding Through an opportunity to work with Prime Directive Records. The band gladly accepted the offer, added a keyboardist to the unit, and recorded its full-length, "Dust for Ashes." The band experienced some line-up changes at this time, and was, in fact, on the verge of breaking up after its CD release. After some re-grouping, Bleeding Through embarked on a tour with Throwdown, and finally signed with Indecision Records (Count Me Out, Throwdown). Fans of pounding metalcore (more metal than hardcore) should definitely check out this band. hide
